Avocados are the healthiest fruit because they are filling with about 400 calories of good fat. They also have almost no sugar. They are a good source of protein and a great source of fibre. Here’s one of my many avocado recipes.
Remember, it’s always best when it’s organic.
This is my favorite guacamole recipe after trying so many through the years.
3 ripe Hass avocados, peeled, pitted
1 medium lime, juiced
2 Roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp grapeseed oil
It’s important that this is done exactly as stated here to get just the right amount of smoothness.
Place the avocados in a big bowl and mash them with a fork till completely smooth. Add the grapeseed oil and mix. Add the lime juice and mix more. There should be some foam -like whiteness on the avocado. Add the onion and tomatoes at the same time. Mix. Add the salt and mix well to make sure the salt is equally spread.
The best way to eat the guacamole is with organic blue corn tortillas. For healthier sorts, Mary’s crackers are a great substitute. For Greeks and Italians, just spread the guacamole on your favorite bread.
Many also put hummus in another bowl and enjoy both (but not on the same piece of tortilla).
